A community of compassion

For years, Hands Holding Hearts has walked beside grieving families across Bucks County — guiding, comforting, and building a network of support for people of every age and background.

Our Mission

“Our mission is to guide and comfort grieving families, educate about loss, and provide a support network to those we serve.”

We serve clients of all ages starting at age three — children, teens, adults, and older adults — along with couples and families navigating loss together.

Diversity & Inclusion

We welcome and value diverse traditions, heritages, and experiences. We proudly serve people of all races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, and family structures. Our practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and multicultural.

Cheryl Cooper is a Pennsylvania licensed social worker. She received a BASW (1978) and an MSW (1982) from the University of Pittsburgh. She also has a Master of Science in Organizational Development and Leadership (2012) from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Cheryl worked for most of her career in child welfare for private agencies in Philadelphia. She retired from Jewish Family and Children’s Service in 2020 after 23 years of employment, serving as a Program Manager and then Assistant Director of Child Welfare Services. Currently, Mrs. Cooper is full-time faculty and Director of Field Instruction for the MSW program at Alvernia University. Her interest in grief therapy work came as a result of being suddenly widowed in 2022 after 37 years of marriage.
