The Dougy Center provides support in a safe place where children, teens, young adults, and their families grieving a death can share their experiences. Through their Pathways Program they provide a safe place for families facing an advanced serious illness. Dr. Kenneth J. Doka is a Professor of Gerontology at the Graduate School of The College of New Rochelle and Senior Consultant to the Hospice Foundation of America. He is one of the authors of the text, Dying & Death: Life & Living. A prolific author, Dr. Doka's books include When Grief Is Complicated, Grief Is a Journey: Finding your Pathway through Loss, Managing Conflict, Finding Meaning, The Longest Loss: Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia, and many other useful books. Dr. Ira Byock is a leading palliative care physician, author, and public advocate for improving care through the end of life.  He is Founder and Chief Medical Officer for the Institute for Human Caring of Providence St. Joseph Health, a 50 hospital health system serving communities across 7 states. is an Internet community of persons dealing with grief, death, and major loss, with over 50 e-mail grief support groups and two web sites. Their integrated approach to on-line grief support provides help to people working through loss and grief issues of many kinds. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. Dr. Leary is a psychologist and certified grief therapisst who consults with LifeNet Health. Her responses reflect her professional opinion to general questions. Individuals struggling with complicated grief are encouraged to seek the care of a professional. Rainbows fosters awareness that youth require support to heal. They nurture a community of effective Rainbows-trained Facilitators, supported with a repository of resources designed to guide youth in their grieving process. is 501c3 nonprofit organization which was conceived and founded by Kevin Caruso in 2004.
